Spring Almond Blossom Family Photos - Chico California - Kerns Family

The Almond Blossoms in Northern California are breathtaking and such a popular time of year to have family photos taken. Kate contacted me a few weeks before the blossoms were completely gone and we caught the very end of the season. Even though the trees were much more sparse than the beginning of the season, the lush green grass and beautiful colors make for an amazing session.

For any of my family or newborn photography sessions, I always send a style guide over with outfit inspirations and ideas. Many of my families take those suggestions and run with the inspirations to find a style that matches their family. I love the simple color palette Kate chose and the two girls looked adorable in their dresses.

I can’t say this enough but from one mom to another, you will never regret hiring someone to take your family photos. Just this past weekend I ran into a family I had photographed in the past. After we quickly caught up, we talked about the importance of having family photos done. Kiddos grow so fast and every stage is so wonderful to capture.

I have a lifestyle approach to all my portrait sessions. This means I focus on the family connection and candid moments throughout your session. This takes the stress off of parents so that they don’t feel like their kiddos have to look “perfectly smiling” at my camera the whole time.
